New Beer Alert: El Dorado
This year we will be brewing a series of single hopped one offs. These beers will all consist of the same malt grist, yeast and will be the same ABV, with the only difference being the use of one hop variety in each. All will be pale and 4%. This shines a spotlight on the hop and the different distinctive flavours each gives, which can easily become difficult to gauge where 2 or more hops are used.
Next up is the USA hop, El Dorado. We’ve used leaf hops in the kettle, then double dry hopped in the FV and CT with pellets. The result is bright tropical fruit flavors and aromas of pear, watermelon, and stone fruit. Completely different to other USA hops, lower on citrusy notes and higher in juicy fruit. We’ve also used a different yeast which lends itself to maximising those sweet, candy like flavours. Perfect for the upcoming good weather*.
*We can’t guarantee good weather.
